Over the years I have seen a number of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ASD is most certainly not a 'one size fits all' type of disorder. Some children have a large vocabulary and speak very well one on one or in groups. Other children have a very limited vocabulary and struggle to communicate using words or gestures.
This article does a terrific job helping parents understand the challenges children face when they are on the spectrum. It highlights typical behavior and difficulties in communicating.
